When to Say the Du‘ā of Breaking the Fasting — Is It Only in the Summer? | Shaykh al-Abbad

Question: The ḥadith, “The thirst has been quenched, the veins have been moistened and the reward has been earned if Allāh wills.” – Is this specific to someone who fasts in the summer, or is it for any person who fasts, even if he does not feel thirsty and his veins do not become dry?

Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muḥsin al-‘Abbād (hafidhahullah):

What is apparent is that it is to be said every time a person breaks their fast because thirst is generally found though it may vary from one person to another. This phrase of remembrance can be said either just before breaking the fast or after it. [Sharḥ Sunan Abī Dāwūd]
