About Us

Markaz us-Sunnah was established in 2014 in the area of Wembley, London, with the intention of propagating the true message of Islam – an adherence to the Qur’ān and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf (the Righteous Predecessors).

Since its establishment, the Markaz has held many beneficial lectures that have clarified the message of Islam and the Sunnah of Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ). This continues to be the case up until this day and all praise is due to Allāh (ﷻ). In addition, the Markaz has an extensive library with books covering a variety of topics. An individual will be able to learn about the ‘aqīdah (creed) of Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) and his Sunnah, the lives of his companions (رضي الله عنهم), the sciences of tafsīr (Qur’anic exegesis) and ḥadīth, Islamic jurisprudence, history and more. In addition, the Markaz has a wide range of resources that clarify the fact that Islam is free from terrorism and other misconceptions. Furthermore, the Markaz attempts to establish community cohesion by holding regular meetings, gatherings and congregations with the intention of bringing individuals together upon the truth.

Lastly, the Markaz educates those who regularly visit as well as those of the wider community via consistent lessons and lectures, covering a wide range of subjects. Through the medium of speech and the platform of social media, the Markaz influences thousands of people every month with the aim of clarifying the authentic message of Islam and bettering the community and its people.

History

We have had a community in the Wembley/Alperton area striving to be upon the way of Ahlus Sunnah for many years before the establishment of Markaz us-Sunnah Islamic Centre. We had a location we rented weekly to establish the Jumuah prayer and rented King Edward VII Park to establish the Sunnah of praying the Eid prayer in the Musalla, as our Prophet used to do. Then we were able to get a building for the Islamic Centre, this was our first location and the opening day was April 25th, 2014 beginning with our first ever Jumuah prayer. Then we moved down the road to our current location on July 7th 2017.
