Ask Allāh for Everything, No Matter How Small — Ibn Rajab

Allāh (subhanahu wa ta’ala) said in the Ḥadīth Qudsī:

“O My servants, all of you are astray except he whom I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide you. O My servants, all of you are hungry except he whom I have fed, so seek food of Me and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except he whom I have clothed, so seek clothing of Me and I shall clothe you.”1

Ibn Rajab: “This ḥadīth indicates that Allāh loves to be asked and invoked by His worshippers for all their worldly needs such as food, drink and clothes just as they ask for guidance and forgiveness. The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Ask your Lord for all your needs, even for your torn shoe sole.’

Some of the Righteous Predecessors (al-Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ) used to invoke Allāh in their prayers for all their needs, even the salt to be added to bread and the feed of their sheep.”2
