Question:

“Is it permissible to specify the month of Ramadan for reading the Qur’an and temporarily suspend seeking knowledge?”

Shaykh Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (rahimahullah) said:

“This has no basis in the Sunnah. However, what is in the Sunnah and is well known, as comes in the Sahihayn (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim), is to increase in reciting the Qur’an in Ramadan. As for specifying Ramadan for only reciting the Qur’an without other acts of worship such as seeking knowledge and teaching and explaining Hadith then this does not have a basis.”
